Place: Lille, France
Last weekend we played at the NAME festival in Lille, for the 4th time. It has become a very special festival for us – we feel like part of the “family”. The organizers, some of them DJs/VJs themselves, know how to treat artists very well. Many of the DJs have also been present in other editions, so it’s really like revisiting friends.
This year the line up was, as usual, excellent – Richie Hawtin, Nicolas Jaar, Soul Clap, John Talabot, Simian Mobile Disco, Maceo Plex, Ellen Allien, Radio Slave (the last two regulars at the festival; we have played with both), etc. We played with Deiva & Djos, Busy P (for the 2nd time), Kavinsky (special moment of the festival, when he played Nightcall, his track from the Drive movie soundtrack), Brodinski, Gran Cavaliere, and Clémentine (the last two at a special, very cool, open air “before” party at a reconverted old train station). The screen setup at the festival was very nice, particular the main stage with two large LED screens. This year it was also a pleasure to play with our Portuguese friends and live visual colleagues Dub Video Connection.
